History and Meaning:
Inspired by the legend of Nazinha do Murutucú, this pendant recalls an 18th-century tale when the caboclo Plácido found a small image of Our Lady of Nazareth on the banks of the Murutucú Creek in Belém. The image mysteriously returned to the same spot even after being taken to Plácido's hut. This phenomenon repeated until the image was finally taken to the Governor's Palace. A chapel was erected at the apparition site, later giving rise to the grand Basilica of Nazareth, one of the most important symbols of Amazonian religiosity.
